Requirements:

This site is optimized for display on a 800x600 resolution screen, with at least 16-bit color. It will display as well or better at higher resolutions or greater color depths, but may not work adequately with less.

We recommend a minimum 56K dial-up connection, or a broadband connection such as cable, DSL, or satellite. Due to the sometimes large volumes of content, performance may be slow on lesser connections.

This site has been tested with Netscape Navigator 4.7x and Internet Explorer 5x. It is not guaranteed to work with other browsers, though we have made evey effort to render it as compatible as possible. If you experience problems viewing the site, or if you think that it may not be rendering correctly on your system, we would like to know about it. Please email the Webmaster.

Though not absolutely required, we highly recommend that you use a JavaScript-capable browser, and enable JavaScript. Using JavaScript will allow you to enjoy special features, including active prompts, the ability to return to your last page from this Help section, and more. For JavaScript help, click here.

Site Layout:

This site is divided into 8 basic sections:
  • Pavilion: The Universe of Energy Pavilion. Here you'll discover the architecture, floorplans, show scripts, and much more.

  • Pre-Show: Learn about the two pre-show films; the original "kinetic mosaic" screen; Emil Radok (creator of the original Pre-Show), and more.

  • Theater 1: Learn about the Theater 1 films, and view Theater 1 images in the Gallery.

  • Diorama: Explore the Primeval Diorama through photos, dinosaur information, and more.

  • Theater 2: Learn about the Theater 2 films, and view Theater 2 images in the Gallery.

  • Finale: Learn about the finale films and presentations; explore conservation efforts to "Save the Tiger"; and view Finale images in the Gallery.

  • Energy Exchange: Part tribute to the original exhibit, part "community forum" where you can meet the Group's founders, members, and more. Share Energy memories, stories, and experiences; and learn about energy conservation and resources.

  • Guest Relations: Site history, FAQs, news, credits, legal information, and much more.

Each section of the site is represented in the "Mosaic Menu" (inspired by the original Kinetic Mosaic pre-show) by a corresponding image. You may select the area you'd like to visit by clicking on any of the images (Guest Rrelations is accessible from the Welcome page, by clicking the site logo). If you hover your mouse over an image, a caption will appear right beneath the mosiac (note: this requires JavaScript).

If you prefer, you may also use the text menu at the bottom of the screen. It links to the same pages as does to the Mosaic Menu, as well as providing additional choices, including Email (to the Webmaster), Legal, and more.

Navigation:

This site is designed to be as "intuitive" as possible, rendering it easy to navigate. Understanding a few basic design conventions will make it even more so.

Each content page is presented in a consistent layout. You'll find a header with the section title and image, a menu on the right-hand side with both basic navigation tools (Help, Email, return to "Home") and content selections. Sub-pages will offer different content selections, always listed in the right-hand menu.

Within the right-hand menu, items in blue will link to additional content pages. Those in white allow you to "jump" within the current page, to a specific section.

If you're ever not sure where you are in the site, take a look at the "path" display at the top of the page. It will show the complete "path" that you took to the current page, and allow you to backtrack to any prior page by clicking on any of the links within the path.
