To all who come to this happy place…

Another day, another new Disney blog – and the world no doubt erupts in spontaneous applause. If you consider all the years that I’ve meant to do this, however, this page has been around for ages and I’m a pioneer of sorts. Anyway, I’ve finally gotten around to it and I now have a partner in crime to keep me productive. Hopefully this can become a repository for our strange Disney obsessions; not only the latest news and unfounded speculation on upcoming attractions, but also a forum to dig deep into the musty corners of Disney lore for things like Handwiches (TM) and “Caaaaaaaaaaaaaanddiiiiiii”.

And Horizons. And bizarre 70’s TV specials. And E. Cardon Walker

But just as this site will chronicle all that is good about the house that Walt built, so shall we thoroughly mock and deride those areas where they fall short. As God is our witness, we shall not abide another Journey Into YOUR Imagination. Or California Adventure. Or what’s left of the Disney-MGM Studios. Or – shudder – Chicken Little. Horribly low-rent Disney productions are hilarious when they’re from thirty years ago; we don’t need any new ones. I’m talking to you, Zach and Cody.

Thankfully, with the events of the last few years things are looking up for the Disney empire for the first time since the death of Frank Wells in 1994. Big Bob Iger seems to know the importance of quality and consulting the right type of creative talent, and Uncle John Lasseter has enough clout to secure the time and budget critical to massive projects while he rebuilds the creative staff at WDI and WDFA.

It’s a good time to be a Disney nerd, and hopefully it’ll stay that way. In the meantime, we’re on the case here in Progress City.

I AM TANGAROA

P.S. Yes, the site looks like rubbish. This will change. Slowly.

Just wanted to let you know that I found your website toward the end of last week. Since then, I believe that I’ve looked at (and read most of) every page. This is a phenomenal collective work and you all should be commended. THANK YOU for taking the time to do the research, find the photos, find the video, make the commentary and build the community that you have through ProgressCityUSA.com. It’s awesome!!!
